Why did my activation fail?

Ipswitch products include license protection using one of three methods.  If you own multiple versions of the same product, each version may use a different method.  To determine which method of license protection applies to your product, please view the Protected Products List.

If you have a non-keyed product, you do not need to activate it.  When you purchase the product, you must install a "permanent" version over the evaluation version.

If you have a license protected product, there are two reasons why you are unable to activate:

  1. Your license key is product and version-specific. If you own multiple versions of the software, each version has its own key.  You can review your licenses and serial numbers  online at myipswitch.com.
  2. You may have exceeded the limit of activations for your license.  Click here for further details.

If you have a serial number protected product, there are two reasons why you are unable to activate:

  1. Your serial number is product and version-specific.  It may not unlock the product or the speicific version of the product you installed.  You can review your licenses and serial numbers online at myipswitch.com.
